Brush and Floss

Maintaining your winning smile is easy if you follow a few simple steps each and every day. You may have been told to brush three times a day when you were young, but a better approach might be to brush after each meal. You should floss after each meal too. Brushing and flossing are easier if you have your tools accessible. Keep a little kit with a travel toothbrush, toothpaste and floss in your purse, backpack or desk drawer so you can freshen up you winning smile all throughout the day!

You will get the best results if you brush for at least two full minutes. An inexpensive hourglass or kitchen timer can help you gauge the time.

When teaching children good brushing habits, it helps to make it fun. Brush your teeth with the child in front of the mirror and show them how it's done. Hum along and make funny faces to make the time fly. Ask the child to inspect their teeth after they're done. Make sure the child flosses at each brushing session. Don't forget to instruct them to brush their tongue as well!

When you take care of your terrific smile each and every day, you will be rewarded with healthier teeth and gums. Make sure you schedule a professional cleaning every six months to remove stubborn plaque that is difficult to manage with a home rountine.
